Morton's Harkin
Morton's Harkin
2008 12.1 Section B Welsh Pony StallionRegistered with The Welsh Pony & Cob Society of Canada and The North American Sportpony Registry
Harkin is a lovely 2008 colt. He is an eye catching pony that gets
compliments and turns heads everywhere he goes. Harkin has the greatest
colouring and markings you could ever want. With his dark liver chestnut
coat, 4 high white socks, star and belly spot, this guy is unforgettable.
He exudes the "look at me" attitude that you want in a show pony.
Harkin also has the most wonderful hunter movement I have seen in a small
pony in a long time. His knees do not bend! His movement is powerful while
still being "huntery." Apart from his flashy looks and outstanding hunter
movement, he also has top imported bloodlines.
Harkin comes from a pedigree of modern day champions in the UK, Australia
and Europe. Harkin's imported sire, Stockham Commander M has proven
himself countless times as both a sire and performance pony for his owners
Mortons Show Stables. He has many winning stock on the line and
undersaddle. Harkin's imported dam, Moelgarnedd Hamdden, is a Multiple
Supreme Champion in the UK and Canada. Her full brother was M&M champion
at HOYS in 2009. Her grandsire is the famous Paddock White Lightning.
Harkin's pedigree includes Rotherwood Secret Agent, Carwed Charmer, Keston
Royal Occasion and the list goes on and on. This handsome pony will mature
a top of the line small. Harkin is the perfect height to breed to horse
mares to produce top of the line larges, or breed to your pony mare to
improve her movement, type, temperament and pedigree. His sire topped the
USEF sire ratings in 2004 and we expect this colt to follow in his sire's
successful stud career.
